Networked Realities: (Re)Connecting the Adamses
Supported by Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, LEF Foundation, Massachusetts Cultural Council
Part of Networked Realities: (Re)Connecting the Adamses, Lumens – by Matthew Belanger, Ven Voisey, and Sean Riley – was a an interactive light installation (re)connecting personal artifacts, histories, & communities and networked across three spaces: Greylock Arts, MCLA Gallery 51, and Turbulence.org.
Turbulence (Jo-Anne Green, Helen Thorington), Greylock Arts (Marianne R. Petit), and MCLA Gallery 51 (Jonathan Secor) collaborated to present Networked Realities, an interactive art and technology project that connected physical spaces in Adams and North Adams Massachusetts via the Internet. Adams and North Adams, once a single settlement in Western Massachusetts with communities in north and south Adams, split in 1878. The project consisted of four commissioned works, two commissioned essays, two workshops, and two public conversations. It took place between June 14, 2008 and March 2, 2009.
